How To Clean A Sonos Arc
(Best Cleaning Method)
The Sonos Arc is the top-of-the-line choice for homeowners looking to add a high-end, mountable soundbar to their home entertainment system.
Unfortunately, like most home sound system components, the Sonos Arc collects dust quickly, and can even scratch over time if not cleaned properly.
Luckily, learning how to clean a Sonos Arc is easy, no matter how long it has been since the Arc has last been cleaned.
How To Clean A Sonos Arc
The best way to clean a Sonos Arc is to use compressed air to remove surface dust, vacuum stubborn dirt out of the speaker mesh, sanitize the surface with isopropyl wipes, and place the Arc back in a clean area.
In the following steps, you will learn how to clean a Sonos Arc the right way.
What You Will Need:
Steps For Cleaning Sonos Arc:
1: Remove Dust From Surrounding Area
If your Sonos Arc is mounted on the wall, then there is likely little dust that surrounds the Arc. However, if the Arc sits on a flat surface, dust can easily begin to pool up on the surrounding area.
To ensure that the Arc will be placed back in a dust-free area when it is done being cleaned, this area must be cleaned first.
To begin, use a household vacuum, or this highly rated shark vacuum, to suck up any dirt or debris around where your Sonos Arc lives, whether it be on a shelf, in an entertainment center, or on the wall.
2: Remove Dust From the Sonos Arc (No Contact)
Before you begin removing the dust, ensure you have a clean place to work. If you already do, continue reading.
The goal is to remove all the dust without rubbing it into the surface area of the Arc, as both the speaker mesh and painted plastic can scratch easily.
To remove dust from the Arc, spray the entire surface area with compressed air to remove as much as possible, with as little contact as possible.
Make sure to spray all particles out of the perforated speaker mesh, as this can greatly improve sound quality.
- If the speaker mesh holes arent clear yet, continue onto step 3.

3: Remove Dust From the Sonos Arc (Contact)
After compressed air has been used to remove dust from the Arc, it is safe to initiate a contact-based cleaning method.
If your Sonos Arc speaker grill still has dirt stuck in the perforation, use a household vacuum to suck the dirt out of the holes. Be careful to not scratch the mesh with the tip of the vacuum.
Once done, Spray the plastic exterior of the Sonos Arc with a soapy water solution, avoiding spraying directly onto the speaker mesh. Wipe the plastic with a microfiber cloth.
At this stage 99% of the dust and dirt will be removed from the surface of the Arc, exposing larger bits of grime that will be targeted next.
4: Sanitize the Sonos Arc
Use 70% Isopropyl alcohol disinfectant wipes to wipe down the entire surface, including speaker mesh, of the Sonos Arc.
This will cut through any grease that may be on the surface of the paint, as well as eliminate small smudges and scuffs.
If the Arc is wet after this step, allow it to dry before moving on.
5: Seal and Protect Sonos Arc Plastic
To finish off the cleaning process, apply a quality detail spray to the plastic surface of the Sonos Arc.
Rub the detail spray in small circular motions until all the plastic has been covered.
Detail sprays have small amounts of synthetic wax that will seal, protect, and restore the shine of your Sonos Arc.
6: Place Sonos Arc Back In Its Home
Congratulations, you have successfully cleaned your Sonos Arc. This will greatly improve the visual appearance, and potentially the sound quality.
Now that it is clean, place the Arc back in place so you can begin listening riveting soundtracks ASAP.
